How we look after your details
Who we are. MyMVHR is run by MyMVHR Ltd. Email hello@mymvhr.co.uk about anything on this page.
What we keep, and why
- Your account: your name, email address and password. The password is kept only as a one-way hash: nobody can read it, us included. Why: to run your account. Basis: our contract with you.
- Your orders: the package you choose, your house details (floor area, rooms, storeys), the site postcode, your notes, and the plans and drawings you upload, then the design we return. Why: to design your system and, if we commission it, to plan the visit. Basis: our contract with you.
- Payments: you pay on Stripe's own secure page. We receive the amount and whether it was paid; we never see your card details. Basis: our contract with you, and the records tax law requires.
- Emails: we email you about your order (payment, your design being ready, password resets). Basis: our contract with you.
- Your questions: when you ask us something, your name, email address, the question and our answer. Signed in, they show in your account. Why: to answer you. Basis: our legitimate interest in answering what you ask.
- The size check: the figures you enter are sent to our server to work out the answer. They are not stored and not linked to you.
Cookies
One cookie of ours keeps you signed in (mm_session, 30 days); it is strictly necessary, so it needs no consent. Before the site opened, a second cookie (mm_preview) let reviewers in.
Only if you press Accept on the cookie banner do Google Ads cookies (_gcl_*, _ga*) get set, to measure which of our ads lead to accounts and orders. Until then nothing is requested from Google for it, and if you reject, none are set. Your choice is remembered in a cookie of ours, mm_consent, for 12 months. Google is an independent controller of what its ads cookies collect (Google Ads controller terms); see how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's privacy policy. Change your choice any time with Cookie settings in the footer; after a reject, reload the page to clear what is already set. Basis: your consent. Apart from that, the site loads nothing from other companies' servers: even its fonts are served from here.
Who handles it for us
- Railway hosts the site, its database and the files you upload, on servers in Amsterdam.
- Stripe takes your payment, under its own privacy policy.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Google measures our ads, only if you accept cookies (see Cookies above).
Stripe and Resend are US companies, so some of your details may be processed in the US.
How long we keep it
Your account, orders and files: while your account is open. Ask us to close it and we delete them, keeping only the payment records, which UK tax law requires us to keep for six years.
Questions: asked from your account, they go when the account does; asked without one, until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your details, to correct them, to delete them, or to send them to you in a form you can reuse: email hello@mymvhr.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle them, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk.
