Our terms

These terms cover what you buy from MyMVHR ("we"), run by MyMVHR Ltd. Questions: hello@mymvhr.co.uk.

1. What we do

We design mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) for your house from the plans you send us. The packages are:

• Design, £169: the room airflows, the duct layout drawing and the unit chosen for your house.
• Design and acoustic, £249: the design, an acoustic report, a cutting list, a coded parts list, a 3D model and the unit's SAP figures.
• Complete, £549: the design, the acoustic report, and our commissioning visit.
• Commissioning, £350: we set and measure every valve of a system already designed and fitted.
• Design review, £50: a technical review of a design someone else made, with our written suggestions (see below).

The Design review is a technical review of a design someone else made, on the ductwork only. We look at: whether the design works in principle, checked from first principles; each room's airflow against Approved Document F; whether the unit chosen is the right size for the home; duct sizes and air speeds, run by run; the layout: routes, fittings, branches and valve positions; insulation, where the ductwork needs it; what's missing from the ductwork; a written list of our suggestions. We send you our suggestions in writing. It is not a design, it is not certified, and it is not an acoustic assessment: it does not include a duct resistance calculation, an acoustic report, a new design or drawings, a redesign. It is advice on the design you send, so it is only as good as the drawings and unit details you give us. The cancellation rules in section 5 apply to it as to the design packages, and it is back within 48 hours of your payment.

Installation questions. Design and acoustic and Complete include unlimited questions about installing your system. Ask by message on your order page; we answer within 2 working days. It is advice only: the installer remains responsible for the installation.

Airflow rates are to Approved Document F 2021. With the Passivhaus option (50% on a design package) we choose a unit certified by the Passivhaus Institute and give you its certified figures. Building control, not us, decides whether your building complies.

2. What we need from you

Plans that show your house as it will be built, with each room's use marked, and the details the order form asks for. We design from what you send: if the plans are wrong or change, the design will not match the house. Measure on site before cutting anything.

3. When you get it

Your design is back in your account within 48 hours of your payment, with your plans in. If we need something more from you, we will ask straight away, and the 48 hours run from when we have it.

4. Prices and payment

You pay when you order, on Stripe's secure page. Your first redesign is free; each one after that is £39. Commissioning visits: travel is included in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Bristol, Newcastle, Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh; elsewhere we add 45p a mile, which we confirm with you before we book the visit.

5. Cancelling

If you are buying as a consumer you have 14 days from your order to cancel. When you order you ask us to start straight away, so: if you cancel before your design (or review) is delivered, we refund what you paid less a fair amount for the work already done; once the design or review is delivered, the work is complete and you can no longer cancel it for a refund. For commissioning, if you cancel before the visit we refund what you paid less any costs already incurred for it. To cancel, email hello@mymvhr.co.uk.

6. The design is yours

You may use your design to build, fit, commission and maintain the system in the house it was made for, with any supplier, installer or commissioning engineer you choose. There are no tie-ins.

7. Our responsibility

We carry out our work with reasonable care and skill. We do not supply or fit the system: the installer is responsible for the installation. If something we did is wrong, tell us and we will put it right. Our liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the package concerned, except where the law does not allow it to be limited, such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

8. Complaints and law

Email hello@mymvhr.co.uk and we will look into it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings there.
